Well, it's been a crazy hectic summer and it looks as though the fall will be equally busy, if not more so. I have my comprehensive exams this fall. Sigh.
So ... I haven't completely abandoned my crafty pursuits, they have been curtailed significantly. But, I hope to pop in every now and then with a project.
Today, I'm taking a little break from the piles of reading to wrap a birthday gift for a friend. And I'm sure you'll be shocked to know that I have NO wrapping paper in the house. How in the world does that happen. Anyway, since today is Sunday, I have the Sunday comics sitting in the paper pile. Perfect!
After I wrapped the two small gifts, I put them in a plain white gift bag... the operative word here being plain. This just wouldn't do. Luckily, in my blog surfing this summer I've noticed (and saved) all the posts on how to make flowers (out of paper, fabric, etc.).
I found this really cool flower pattern online and decided to try it out for the front of my gift bag. I think it turned out really well.
I'm going to make some more in different sizes, at some point, with some tissue paper or maybe some light weight dsp.
The possibilities are endless! :)

I love it when the comics come to the rescue! Great going. Good luck on the exam.
